In my toplinks, I have a background behind each navigation link which is under the logo. Ex: Home, Upgrade etc.

I want to remove the BG image that's behind the links.

You can edit it by going to: ACP > Templates & Styles > {Select Theme} > global.css > Edit Stylesheet Advanced Mode.
Than it's probably best to copy + paste it into something like notepad++ and go to line '424'
It should say this (or something like this):
background: #437C01 url(../../../images/CoderGreen/thead.png) repeat-x;
border: 1px solid #181818;
text-shadow: 0 -1px #74AD34;
padding: 8px;
-moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 5px;
-webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 5px;
border-bottom-left-radius: 5px;
-moz-border-radius-bottomright: 5px;
-webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 5px;
border-bottom-right-radius: 5px;
display: inline;
In the first line there, you can remove the bit that says 'url (link here) repeat-x', keep the solid color or change it.
remember to keep the ';' at the end of it.
