First of all, a disclaimer and plea for gentleness. I am the type of person who knows JUST enough to really screw stuff up, and then not enough to be able to adequately explain when I beg for help. Rolleyes I'm sure I deserve a big slap with the stupid fish...

I used to have my forums at my homepage at http://www.BalancePointe.com. Last night I installed WordPress as the index page, and tried to move my forums to balancepointe.com/forums.

I use FileZilla and I moved the forums via FZ. Unfortunately, I first moved them to a wrong folder I 'piggyback' BP off my main domain of scribblemuse.com, so there were multiple folders and subfolders, so I accidentally moved them first to an incorrect subfolder. No big deal I thought; I found the files and moved them to the correct subfolder.

Now, my forums are totally screwed up (http://www.balancepointe.com/forums). Sad They are still technically there, which is what confuses me most of all. They just have no formatting. When I try to click on the admin cp, I get this:
Quote:Not Found
The requested URL /admin/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at http://www.balancepointe.com Port 80

I apologize in advance for whatever information you may need that I'm not giving--just let me know if you do need more info. Basically I'm just at a loss as to what I did wrong, or which element I missed transferring. Any ideas?

If i am not mistaken your links are calling up the wrong address. You need to call up /forums/admin/index.php and once there you need to change your settings to reflect the change then it should all work out ok.

Code:
http://www.balancepointe.com/forums/admin/

Also at some point you may want to change your admin folder. By that i mean rename it to something else. Its safer that way. But you need to edit your config.php file to reflect this also i believe.
Thanks Damink! I am working right now, but will put your suggestions into process in a bit. Makes sense about the admin folder too--I never thought about that.

I'll let you know how things go. Smile

Edited to say: IT worked! Thank you SO much! Smile
Any time mate. Smile
