Lately I've been browsing through tons of hosting sites and I've found probably the two main sites that I will choose for the MyBB forum that I am making. The best hosts I've seen through all the reviews were Bluehost and Dreamhost.

Bluehost Features:
http://bluehost.com/tell_me_more.html
Key Features:
-$6.95/mo
-99% Uptime
-Unlimited Disk Storage
-Unlimited Bandwidth
-Free Domain Name & Privacy
-100 MYSQL Databases
-Unlimited Email Addresses
-Host Unlimited Domains

Dreamhost Features:
http://dreamhost.com/hosting.html
Key Features:
-$8.95/mo
-99% Uptime
-Unlimited Disk Storage
-Unlimited Bandwidth
-Free Domain Name & Privacy
-Unlimited MYSQL Databases
-Unlimited Email Addresses
-Host Unlimited Domains

Has anyone here used these hosts before for a forum? If so what were your experiences with them? If you have used any other hosts that you have liked feel free to post them here.

Also I'd just like to note that I will be using a shared hosting plan for my forum until (hopefully!) it becomes larger and I can have enough money to buy a dedicated server.

Best hosting for a MyBB forum Big Grin
Look at the comparison though, it's pretty bad.

100GB bandwidth, 10GB storage 18.95/mo
Mybb Central is actually on Dreamhost.
Lol, I saw your whois Tongue

Do you like it, and can it support a lot of users with myBB?

Thanks. Smile

¿VPS or Shared?
Just the basic shared. I have a couple dozens sites on it too. As long as a single site isn't too big it's not a problem. You could probably have a 100mb database and still be on a decent shared host. That's about 100,000 posts. After that things might start being a problem depending on your online users.

But why pay more than you have to? It's easy to switch once you have your site popular. Even HF was started on a cheap shared host. It's been moved 3 times now.

It's not pretty bad because I don't oversell and your never going to need it (unless you actually have a big website, which should be making well over $20/month).

You wouldn't need more than the first plan for a new forum, which starts at just $2.99/month.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it very much.

I won't buy it, but thanks for the help, and 2.99 is pretty reasonable Tongue

Good luck with your business!
