What features would it include, if you did indeed create it?
Well right now I am experimenting with giving Super Moderators access to admincp with limited access. It's maybe not perfect solution because I believe a modcp should have very specific access.

May I ask you what you think would be needed in a modcp?

I agree. I also do use this method at my board though.

For 1.2? Or for 1.4?

In general though, I think that the following should probably be included in a ModCP:

  1. Chris was already talking a little bit about this in an old thread, but moderators should definitely be able to ban users (24 hours - settable by the administrator)
  2. IP bans should also be able to be issued (24 hours - settable by the administrator). However, they should be revamped so that they are given out similarly to account bans (a time limit should be able to be set, and a reason should be able to be given).
  3. Like in vB and IPB, administrators should also be able to get into the MCP.
  4. Moderators should be able to set a user on post moderation (that user's posts do not appear to the public without a staff member's approval).
  5. A place to moderate those posts and threads, like in the ACP should exist.
  6. A user notes section where staff members can pull up users and make notes only viewable by the staff. This would be ideal for tracking disciplinary offenses.
  7. Being able to activate new accounts would also be a good idea.
  8. Maybe some kind of integration with a warning system?
  9. It'd be good if all of these things could be controlled by ModCP permissions set by the admin These permissions being set by groups as well as on a per user basis. Depending on the forum, certain staff members might only need access to certain places (ie: support teamers might only need access to the account activation portion), so no need to give them more tools than they need.


I'm just rattling things off here, but what do you think, Labrocca?
Yes I also need modCP for my site.
cant let mods use my adminCP
That is why i would like to see it separately.
I would add options such as:

Ban Users/Warn Users,
Post Announcements
Edit User Profiles (but not Usergroup obviously)

You do realize that you can limit the permissions of anyone using admincp. It's not perfect but it's suitable imho. At least take a look at it before you make the assumption.
Yes I Did That Before And Allowed My Mods To Login My AdminCP.
But There Aren't Any Good Features For A Mod To Use In AdminCP.
It would be better if you could make a ModCP where a mod can use all features that are there.
Is someone still working on this?
No because 1.4 of mybb comes with one already.
