Endeavoring To Change My Forum's Background - Effexion - Jan 09, 2014

Here is the code I have for global.css:

Quote:body {
background: rgb(135,224,253); /* Old browsers */
background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, rgba(135,224,253,1) 0%, rgba(2,36,73,1) 100%); /* FF3.6+ */
background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0%,rgba(135,224,253,1)), color-stop(100%,rgba(2,36,73,1))); /* Chrome,Safari4+ */
background: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, rgba(135,224,253,1) 0%,rgba(2,36,73,1) 100%); /* Chrome10+,Safari5.1+ */
background: -o-linear-gradient(top, rgba(135,224,253,1) 0%,rgba(2,36,73,1) 100%); /* Opera 11.10+ */
background: -ms-linear-gradient(top, rgba(135,224,253,1) 0%,rgba(2,36,73,1) 100%); /* IE10+ */
background: linear-gradient(to bottom, rgba(135,224,253,1) 0%,rgba(2,36,73,1) 100%); /* W3C */
filter: progidBig GrinXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#87e0fd', endColorstr='#022449',GradientType=0 ); /* IE6-9 */
color: url *******;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif;
font-size: 13px;
text-align: center; /* IE 5 fix */
line-height: 1.4;
}

I have tried:

Quote:body { background-image : url(**tp*******om/9oy1Jio.***)

All that does is ruin the whole layout of the theme. Thanks kindly, guys.

You also need other css based property of body task mate
You code should be
body { background-image : url(**tp*******om/9oy1Jio.***);
color: url *******;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif;
font-size: 13px;
text-align: center; /* IE 5 fix */
line-height: 1.4;
}
Try it

Are you sure you are using proper formatting?

What are you trying to change it to?

By "ruin", I take it you mean that it looks out of place. Changing the background property to something like this would probably work.

Code:
background: #030303 url(../path/to/) repeat;

This would make the background color #030303, use the image specified, and repeat the image. To prevent the image from repeating simply change "repeat" to "non-repeat".
