What can the points be used for and subscriber questions

I took note of a couple exclusive things subscribers get, being 1000 extra points on signup and an approved link in the Mybb directory.

Now my questions are, what can the points be used for? Also what's the link thing in the Mybb directory. I can already submit a link to the directory w/o subscribing, but whats the difference to subscribing and submitting a link as opposed to not subscribing and submitting a link?

Also is there plans for a separate subscriber only section in the forum, hidden to normal users?

Haven't really thought of a great use just yet. You can donate them to me.

Part of it is to show that the MYPS does work with the IPN.

Subscription guarantees directory approval...I turn down a LOT of sites.
