MYPS (a mybb points system)
#41
labrocca Wrote:I am releasing MYPS this weekend. It's been in the planning for quite some time. What's available now is early beta release. Do not use in live environment.
I want to know if we can use this in a live environment now?

Great mod..and the potential for add on´s is great, but I have a slight problem. In the postbit_author_user part of the template, all I have is the points total, but no name. What do I need to add to get the template bit so the name is displayed?

log into your admin, go to settings for the mod and type the name in you'd like. There's a space for that in the plugin.

I saw the "recount" only uses the postnum for recounting the points so I've made a sort of "recount" myself ::

Points
- per char
- per word
- per thread
- per reply
- per poll
- per pollvote
- per attachment
- default : registration

It doesn't update the DB ( possible if you uncomment it ) but it echo's the username + points in your ACP. So by c/p the code, you could add it into your "Point System".

For testing upload recount_points.php into your /admin/ folder and go to
Code:
http://<placeofyourforum>/admin/recount_points.php?action=main

Well, I'm using the plug in on my main site. I've just told my members to play around with it, but that the points don't mean anything right now! LOL...but one of my members discovered something. She thinks it's great, but I think it is a flaw? She can add her own points! They're supposed to be earned, so that's wrong, right? LOL..I verified this by using my test member!

edit: and I uploaded the newest file, but the recount is still doing the same thing...matching the points for posts!

edit again: and with further playing around, I've discovered that if I change the "default for new members" from 1 to 5 and then do the recount, it multiplies the post count by 5 and nothing else! Did you change the wrong setting? I thought the "default for new members" setting was just the amount they get for registering??

PHP Code:
        $postcount $row['postnum'];

$newmyps $mybb->settings['myps_default'] * $postcount;

$db->query("UPDATE ".TABLE_PREFIX."users SET myps='".$newmyps."' WHERE uid='".$row['uid']."'");

Hasn't been changed i suppose [1.0.4] =P

If you are moderator of a specific forum and you click on that "edit" in the postbit (in a thread of a forum where you're moderator), you can add/.../ points. You can change the admin his/her points to zero with one simple click =P Negative is also possible ^^

oh man...did I change the wrong setting?  wtf is wrong with me?  I really screwed up this recount section.  Today I will work more on it and see if I can incorporate the change LEX made.

LEX..I am going to use part of your code into the myps do_recount function.  I was going to write it eventually anyways.  Smile

Code:
        $newmyps = $mybb->settings['myps_perreply'] * $postcount + $mybb->settings['myps_default'];

That's really what the recount line should be.  I am not sure wtf I was thinking (or not thinking).

Thanks for the reply, but I had already done that. All the settings are as I want them, I just don get the name or the edit option for moderators.

Hmm..that's odd Kevinr.

Are you sure you have enabled in the admincp for moderators to edit? What version of mybb are you running? Can I get a link to your site?

Also I will be fixing the bug with recount (again) today. I messed up once again...not sure wtf my problem is with that function. I will be using some of Lex's code to improve the recount as well (already have his permission) so it looks like we should be able to get accurate recounts now as well.

Look for 1.05 tonight.
