Newbie question here.. I am trying to download the latest version of Labrocca's My_Side_Boxes_v1.1.zip. All I get from that link (http://www.mybbcentral.com/thread-1697.html) is a file named "attachment.php" size 10k. Where & how do I download the latest full version?

Ps, I am a paid subscriber. Thanks

No, Matt, that link is a dead end. It is supposed to take you to a filed called
"My_Side_Boxes_v1.1.zip" - it does not. I have searched everywhere for a file with that name - and it simply doesn't exist! Google gives you one location..at the bottom of the first post.

I have promised some people advertising space on my new site and I need those side boxes!

Ok, I have worked out the problem; and downloaded the .zip file for "My Side Boxes"

Now I am trying to put my own advertisements in the side boxes.

Here is the code posted to add a to add a new box:

<table border="0" cellspacing="{$theme['borderwidth']}" cellpadding="{$theme['tablespace']}" class="tborder">
<tr><td class="thead"><strong>Heading</strong></td></tr>
<tr><td class="trow1">
This is where you can put your content.
</td></tr>
</table><br>

Again keeping in mind that I am still new at this bulletin board and the script that is used to write these programs, I have a question about the location of "class='trow1'" data. Can I access the code which sets up class="trow1"? If so, can I change it so it allows me flexibility in posting my advertising boxes?

A class is a style for the css. If you want to change css in mybb you do it in the admincp under themes editor. However I don't see how it gives you flexibility in posting ad boxes.

That code I give is an example. You're free to alter it to your liking. If you want the box to have it's own style you can either hard code it into the td or just make a new style in the theme editor.

Example of hardcoding:
Code:
<table border="0" cellspacing="{$theme['borderwidth']}" cellpadding="{$theme['tablespace']}" class="tborder">
<tr><td class="thead"><strong>Heading</strong></td></tr>
<tr><td style="color: #ffffff; background: #000000; font-weight: bold; border: 1px solid #FF0000;">
This is where you can put your content.
</td></tr>
</table><br>

If you are not familiar with css then I suggest you read some tutorials. Start here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/

I don't know who gave you the crown of thorns to wear... I have been working with computers by writing out FORTRAN code on punch cards before you were born. This is a large program with very little solid documentation (ie, instruction manual). What may look like an "idiot proof" configuration system to you, can make things very difficult to locate when someone new to the program wants to make a change to the code itself.

Yes, I am able to write the "hardcode" (basic html) myself. However, for some reason something is stopping me from displaying a picture file. When I delete 'class="trow1' ". I can get a .gif to display. However, for obvious reasons, I hate to simply delete a class without reading its class code first. When you told me that the class code was located in the (Templates & Style section) in the theme editor (versus the configuration section), I could find the stylesheet code under the global.gss, options section.

It may seem obvious to some people that configuration, theme, style, and templates all have distinctly different meanings, but for someone who is new your system - it is not obvious.

This is not a criticism of your bulletin board, but rather a plea for a little patience with those people who still must ask some stupid questions. Starting the post with "Ugh..." is hardly putting out the welcome mat to beginners.

That's normally how I start a post where I pause to think. Probably a bad habit but it's not meant to disparage members. I removed it for you.
