[r4] Simple Calendar On Index
#1
MyBB Version: MyBB 1.4
New Settings: 3 [ Simple Calendar On Portal Group ]
New Templates: 3
DB Changes: 0
File Changes: 0
Files: 2
  • ./inc/plugins/portal_calendar.php
  • ./jscripts/spc.js
Images: 1
  • ./images/bg_cal.png
Install:
  • Upload ./inc/plugins/portal_calendar.php into your ./inc/plugins/ folder
  • Upload ./jscripts/spc.js into your ./jscripts/ folder
  • Upload ./images/bg_cal.png into your ./images/ folder
  • Go to your PluginManager and Activate the "Simple Calendar On Portal" Plugin.
Settings:
  • Birthday Colour
  • Event Colour
  • Birthday + Event Colour
What:
Adds a lil' calendar on your index page which displays Birthdays and Events with a specified colour.
Demo: http://beta.thingiej.be/

Note:
You'll notice 2 pluginfiles in ./inc/plugins/;
There's a reason for that ... =P
=> If you have Sideboxes 2.0 by Zaher installed; you probably want your calendar to be 'in' a sidebox; therefore upload the plugin within the 'WithSideboxPluginByZaher' folder and add {$spc} in your index template before {$sb_welcome} (This can't be done by the plugin cause it checks the original template for changes; and since you've changed it already due the Sidebox plugin ... it can't be done by plugin =P)
=> If you don't have Sideboxes 2.0 installed; upload the other file; the plugin will do the necessary changes to your templates.

Wow! Thanks LeX-
I do use the afresh black templates on my forum and although i'm a noob
i just followed your instructions and it works !

great stuff :o)

only one thing.. if i want to change the days layout color.. where should i look for ?
in the .php file if the plugin ?

-----------------------------------------------

Ok nevermind that question, i just found it.. and if any other members wants to know here it is
try to find this line in the .php file. there are 7 of them (one for each days of the week)
and just change the color code for one that you want.

<td style="background: #FF8C00 url(./images/bg_cal.png) bottom left repeat-x;" class="tcat" width="14%" align="center">{$su}</td>

and if you don't know the color codes.. here is a link to help you out

hrm.. but there's something strange about it.
when i post an even on april 28th.. on the simple calendar it shows it on april 27th..

Edit:
Was it a single Event or Ranged ... ?
If it was a Ranged one; what was its starttime ?

PHP Code:
./inc/plugins/spc.php

This file is not in the zipfile but I guess you mean portal_calendar.php
So I upload that file to inc/plugin folder.
But when I activate I get the calendar on the indexpage in stead of the portal page.

I removed the string from the indextemplate
PHP Code:
<td width="25%" valign="top">{$spc}</td

and add it in my portal but there it does not work???

Yeah its that file; it was listed as portal_calendar.php
Code:
Files: 2

./inc/plugins/portal_calendar.php
./jscripts/spc.js

The mistake in the install text is due copy/paste;

I used the original name; cause i was to lazy to change everything in the pluginfile (the function names); the file is named portal_calendar but it shows the calendar on index.
Notice this
Code:
What:
Adds a lil' calendar on your index page which displays Birthdays and Events with a specified colour.

If you want it on your portal; add a new hook in the pluginfile
Code:
$plugins->add_hook('portal_start', 'scp');
and add {$spc} in your portal template.

How can I make this work with Labrocca's "My Side Boxes" plugin? I can't use another one as I have made changes to it (with Labrocca's ok).
Of two equivalent theories or explanations, all other things being equal, the simpler one is to be preferred.
