It lets you go to the forums without reloading.

Hmm, is it done via AJAX or does it load the WHOLE forum when you go to the index page? If it loads the whole forum, then it is really slow.

Wow i was tired, it is a popup forum, the bg never reloaded, it has to load for each thread and each forum though.
