My Side Boxes 1.3
#41
please can I have some code to add to my header_welcomeblock_member template to show the number of posts/ threads etc since last visit (as in the sidebox)?

Thanks

EDIT: Also, please can you tell me how to move the search "go" button up to the right of the search box?

OK... is there an easy way to change the sidebox templates? I know there's the general template that lets you reorder/remove the boxes, but is it possible to change the contents of a specific box?

Less ambiguously, I basically wanted to spuce up the search box a bit Tongue

EDIT: worked it out Tongue

You must be doing something wrong with your code then, plenty of people add extra boxes, there's extra boxes here... what code are you putting in??

That's not the same sideboxes plugin as this thread is for, but check if MySQL is running in strict mode.

Quick question for anyone... I want to show latest discussions on the sidebox, but I don't want "latest discussions" to show up at the top of my forum like it always seems to do whenever I activate it (I don't mean at the top of of the sidebox, I mean at the top of the forum as if it were another forum category).

What do I need to do to hide the big latest discussion category, but also have it activated so that I can see it in the sidebox? This might be a theme-specific change I need to make. But what would that be if so?

Another question... Is there anyway to sort of compartmentalize the sideboxes? When I say that I mean, is there a way to decide which boxes are visible on the index page, while also having a different set of boxes you want visible for the thread listing page? I ask because my index page is quite long, while my thread listing page is comparatively short, and I want to be able to run select boxes all the way down both so that they fit both pages well.

I don't understand what you want to do. This plugin is a sidebox.

You would have to make custom changes to the plugin file but I won't be able to create this for you. Basically add some THIS_SCRIPT checking IF statements.

Right, I understand. I should have been clear. Maybe this wasn't the right place to ask it.

What I was saying was, whether I have the plugin installed or not, whenever I activate latest discussions I see a latest discussions forum category at the top of my board, as if it were a regular forum category.

I don't want that there, so I simply disable the latest discussion in the options. However, I do want latest discussions in the side bar, but for some reason it won't turn on in the sidebar without also turning on in forum categories. I was wondering if anyone knew what this might be, and how to make it not show up in forum categories but only on the sidebox.

I understand by default the plugin works where it only shows in the sidebar, but I suppose because of the way my theme is it makes it show in categories as well whenever it is turned on. I was asking if anyone knew why this was, and what template adjustment I needed to make to stop it from showing up there so I could use the sidebox.

As I said maybe this would be best suited in the thread for this template.

Is this something you would consider adding in the future as a plugin option in an update or is that something that wouldn't be possible as a configurable?
