I was thinking of adding forum exemptions. Maybe.

Yes I was thinking of the same. Some forums like site news and general chat would really be a good thing to exclude. If you add this feature I would be very grateful!

If not I will come around to trying when I get time.

I'll probably take a moment and add it.

Alright, thank you Labrocca. I will be waiting until then Smile

Its not a smart decision because people can download the user agent extension for Firefox and then basically switch to the Google agent. This would make it seem as if Google was browsing your site but would get the abilities of a registered member meaning posts, replies and access to areas for members only. So someone could do this to avoid registration and I don't think you want to lose potential members Tongue

It's unlikely someone would do that but realistically it's best to give the bots their own group as I originally suggested. I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think it was the best idea.

I love the mod...it works great!... I made a completely new group for the bots in the user group area..I named it Guest/Bots then I went to Configuration Spider/bots and at the bottom "user Group" I put them in that group. However the group does not show any members since I am only placing them in there through the edit in admin.cp/configuration/spider/bots
I am not sure if this is the way..but I think I have a problem. I find that Google and Yahoo goes to Viewing no permission a lot. I wonder if it still is getting hung on the view restriction?

There are lots of ways that bots go to No Permission page. Do you allow guests to view profiles? What about memberlist? View the site as a guest with the plugin off and you'll see.
