I think the biggest issue is that contrasting blue. Use another color. Possibly just try a neutral color like a grey. #555555 might do it.

Theres a difference. If you look at this website, it's using the exact same forum names, topics, categories, etc.

At least try to be original when making a forum, make it unique, something different, something that will attract a lot of users.
